SensoStar U – compact ultrasonic heat meter
It is used to measure the amount of thermal energy flowing and the exact data can be given in various units, including GJ and kWh , which are then transmitted to the suppliers of that energy. Newer, better and more functional devices are appearing on the market, which, in addition to collecting and transmitting data, are also used as fault indicators. Resistance to contamination, lack of moving parts and any installation position are just a few of the many advantages that make the device successfully installed in many homes. Learn about the principle of the ultrasonic heat meter and discover all its advantages.
Ultrasonic versus mechanical heat meters - similarities and differences
Both models have been adapted for remote reading and offer instant data reading. There is no need to read the data directly from the device, meaning that the collector does not have to manually transcribe the measurement results.
In addition, unlike a mechanical one, the operating principle of any ultrasonic heat meter is to measure the time difference between two ultrasonic waves, one released against the water current and the other with the water current. Thanks to this operating principle, the device is highly resistant to water jet interference and to neodymium magnets.
In addition, the lack of moving parts eliminates the risk of damage due to contamination in the installation. The device is very easy to install and requires no ongoing maintenance. In addition, any installation position and the possibility of remote reading mean that such a device can be installed in even hard-to-reach places.
The ultrasonic heat meter, as well as the mechanical one, have an automatic indication of errors such as: device reset, weak battery, electronics or sensor failure, etc…
SensoStar U ultrasonic heat meter - additional benefits
In addition to the significant design differences mentioned between the modern edition of the device and its mechanical counterpart. It is very easy to operate. The detachable version also has a rotating and multifunctional LCD display, which continuously indicates the measurement with very high precision.
